Why is Port Listener not receiving any connections?

If Port Listener is listening but no connections appear, check the following:

  • Windows Firewall -- Make sure Port Listener is allowed through the firewall for both private and public networks
  • Correct IP address -- The remote machine must connect to the correct IP address of your computer, not localhost (unless testing locally)
  • Network/router firewall -- If connecting from outside your network, your router or corporate firewall may be blocking the port
  • Port number -- Verify the remote machine is connecting to the exact port number shown in Port Listener
  • VPN or proxy -- VPN software can redirect or block traffic. Try disconnecting the VPN temporarily
