Group Net Send v1.01 - Batch Network Messaging

Send messages to groups of users across your Windows network using the Messenger service from the command line

SHAREWARE

Send Messages to Groups of Network Users

Need to send a message to dozens -- or even hundreds -- of users on your Windows network at once? Group Net Send is a lightweight command-line utility that leverages the built-in Windows Messenger service to deliver messages to multiple users or computer names in a single batch operation. Just create a text file with your message, another with your list of recipients, and let Group Net Send handle the rest.

Group Net Send is ideal for triggering notifications based on network events, server reboots, or scheduled maintenance windows. Because it runs entirely from the command line, you can integrate it into batch files, scheduled tasks, or any automated workflow. Redirect the output to a log file for auditing, or use the verbose option to monitor delivery in real time.

There is no client installation required -- recipients only need Windows NT, 2000, 2003, or XP with the Messenger service started. Download a fully functional shareware version of Group Net Send today and start sending batch network messages immediately.

Who Is This For?

  • IT administrators -- Notify entire departments or user groups about planned outages, maintenance windows, or security updates without leaving the command line.
  • Help desk teams -- Send quick broadcast messages to affected users during incidents or service disruptions across the network.
  • System administrators -- Integrate batch messaging into login scripts, startup routines, or event-driven automation for hands-off notifications.
  • Developers and scripters -- Embed network messaging into build pipelines, monitoring tools, or custom applications using simple command-line calls.

Key Features

Batch Messaging Send a single message to an entire list of usernames or computer names in one operation. Just point to your message file and user list -- Group Net Send delivers to each recipient automatically.
Script Integration Runs entirely from the command line, making it easy to embed in batch files, scheduled tasks, login scripts, or any automated workflow that needs network messaging.
Message Splitting (Registered) When your message exceeds the character buffer limit, the -s option automatically splits it into multiple sends until the entire text has been delivered to each recipient.
Verbose Logging Enable verbose mode to see detailed output for each send operation. Redirect output to a log file for auditing, troubleshooting, or integration with monitoring systems.
Message Truncation (Registered) The -t option truncates messages that exceed the character limit instead of failing, ensuring delivery even when message content is too long for a single send.
No Client Install Recipients need no additional software -- Group Net Send uses the built-in Windows Messenger service. If the service is running on the target machine, messages are delivered instantly.

Command Line Options

netsendcmd.exe [message file] [username file] -verbose -s -t

  • -s -- Split the message into multiple sends if it exceeds the buffer limit (registered only).
  • -t -- Truncate the message if it exceeds the buffer limit (registered only).
