Is ClearName safe to use?

Yes. ClearName is a simple, single-purpose utility that only clears the last logged-in username from the Windows login prompt. It does not install drivers, collect data, or make any permanent system changes beyond its intended purpose. It has been available from RJL Software since 2001.
