A System Restore point is a snapshot of your Windows system settings and files at a specific moment in time. If something goes wrong after a change, you can use Windows System Restore to roll your computer back to the state it was in when the snapshot was taken.
RJL System Cleaner automatically creates a restore point before every cleaning operation. This means that if you clean your system and something does not work as expected afterward, you can undo the changes by restoring to the point created just before the clean.
How to restore if needed:
- Open the Start menu and search for "Create a restore point"
- Click "System Restore"
- Choose the restore point labeled "RJL System Cleaner" with the date and time of your last clean
- Follow the wizard to restore
This feature is on by default. You can turn it off in Settings if you prefer, but we recommend keeping it on for peace of mind.
Note: System Restore must be enabled in Windows for this to work. If System Protection is turned off on your computer, RJL System Cleaner will log a note and continue cleaning without creating a restore point.
