No -- this is actually a good sign. It means your computer is relatively clean. Here are common reasons for small scan results:
- You recently cleaned. If you ran RJL System Cleaner or another cleaner recently, there has not been enough time for junk to accumulate.
- Windows Storage Sense is active. Windows 10 and 11 can automatically clean temp files via Storage Sense (Settings > System > Storage). If this is enabled, Windows may be cleaning files before RJL System Cleaner gets to them.
- Only Safe items are selected. The default settings only clean items rated Safe. If you also enable Caution and Review items (browser cookies, history, Windows Update cache, etc.), the scan will find more.
- Not running as Administrator. System-level items (system temp files, Windows Update cache, crash dumps) are only scanned when running as Administrator. Right-click the .exe and select "Run as administrator" for a more thorough scan.
- You have a new or fresh Windows installation. A computer that was recently set up simply has not had time to accumulate junk.
Check the duplicate file scanner results -- even on clean systems, duplicates often account for significant wasted space.
Run the app again in a week or two -- temporary files and browser caches build up quickly with normal use.
