How does Add/Remove know which programs are on my computer?
Add/Remove reads the list of programs registered in Windows (the same list you would see in Add/Remove Programs or Apps & Features). It uses this real list to make the prank look authentic. It only reads program names -- it does not interact with or modify any installed software.
