Will the victim know it is a prank right away?

Very unlikely. The invisible box restriction is so bizarre that nobody suspects prank software at first. The victim will try moving their mouse harder, checking their mousepad, adjusting their grip, cleaning the sensor -- anything but looking for a hidden program. The random timing (every 15 seconds) adds to the confusion because the restriction comes and goes unpredictably.
