Will the victim know it is a prank right away?
Probably not. A cursor that occasionally jumps to a random position looks like a hardware problem -- a loose wireless receiver, a dying mouse, or interference. The victim will troubleshoot their mouse extensively before suspecting software. If you set the movement intervals to be less frequent, the prank can go undetected for a very long time.
