My AutoRun is not working on my computer, why? (Windows XP, Windows...

To enable/disable AutoRun on Windows XP (Home or Pro) you must modify the system Registry.

Click Start, then Run. Type regedit and click OK. The registry setting to change is shown below:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\Explorer

Set the Dword value of NoDriveTypeAutoRun and to 0x00000095 then click OK.

This creates a value called NoDriveTypeAutoRun set to 0x00000095.

Click Registry then Exit.

Click Start then Log Off and log off the machine.

Autorun is now disabled

To enable AutoPlay for audio CD's, follow the above instructions to get to the NoDriveTypeAutoRun value.

Right-click and choose Delete.

Log off your computer.

Autorun will now be enabled.
