Why does TrayCD show the wrong drive state?

If TrayCD shows the wrong state for a drive (for example, only showing "Close" when the drive is actually closed), this can happen if you manually ejected a drive or if another application took control of the CD device. To fix this, close all your CD-ROM drives manually and then click the Refresh option in the TrayCD menu to resync the drive state.
