Can I control the window style when launching programs?

Yes. Program - WAV Launcher lets you choose how the launched program appears: normal window, maximized (full screen), or minimized (hidden in the taskbar). Running programs minimized is especially sneaky -- the victim will see taskbar buttons multiplying without knowing where they came from.
