What is the difference between registry startup and the Start Menu...

Programs added through WinStartup are stored in the Windows registry Run or RunOnce keys, making them hidden from the Start Menu Startup group. This means they will not appear in the Startup folder that users can browse. Programs in the Start Menu Startup folder are visible to anyone who opens that folder. WinStartup uses the registry method, which is more discreet.
