Can I set the replacement to happen only sometimes?

Yes. ReplaceKeys lets you set a frequency in seconds. If you set it to 0, the replacement happens every single time the key is pressed. If you set it to a number like 10, the replacement only happens once every 10 seconds. An intermittent replacement is harder for the victim to figure out because the key works correctly most of the time.
