Can I set the interval to less than 10 seconds?

No. The minimum interval is 10 seconds. This is by design -- intervals shorter than 10 seconds would make the screen go dark so frequently that it would be difficult to stop the prank. The 10-second minimum ensures the target can still interact with the computer enough to close the program if needed.
